Bryant came to Montgomery Co., AL in 1834. In 1836, he moved to Johnston Co., NC. Allen, Robert – S 37 661 – Entered service in Amelia Co., VA. In 1823, resided in Madison Co., AL. Last payment 1826, at which time he said he had resided in AL for 14 years and previous thereof in VA. Armistead, Armistead – obit – Born 1762, Elizabeth City Co., VA; d. 1842, Clarke Co., AL; moved to AL 1819; ml. Rebecca KIMBELL, m2. Elizabeth (Lewis) MORRIS; six children; entered service at Williamsburg, VA. ARNOLD, Thomas – W 5 640 – Born 1763 or 1766 in Buckingham Co., VA; enlisted in Ninety-Six District, SC; m. 1786 Mary __?__; had a number of children; left a Will in Dallas Co., AL which was probated 1844. ATCHLEY, Abraham – R 68 – Born 1761 near Princeton, NJ; moved with parents to Montgomery Co., VA (again Loudon Co.), where he enlisted. Applied for pension 1839, aged 78, at residence in Jackson Co., AL. AYERS, Samuel – Obit – Died in Madison Co., AL 1827, aged 87. At close of war he married and settled in Cumberland Co., VA until the Fall of 1818, when at age 72, he emigrated to Madison Co., AL. Will is recorded in Madison Co., AL. BACON, Richard – S 16 625 – Born Lunenburg Co., VA. Applied for pension in Madison Co., AL in 1832 at age of 71. Died in 1833. BAGWELL, Frederick – W 10 386 – Born VA, son of Daniel; married 1773 NC to Mary HILL; died 1850 Fayette Co., AL; had resided in Fayette Co., AL nearly 30 years, previously in Madison Co., GA. BAILES, Eldridge – W 6099 (Sarah), BLWt. 565-160-55 – Born ca. 1750 VA; moved when young to Santee River, SC where he lived when he entered service; then became a citizen of NC, where he lived 11 years; next moved to TN for 2 years, then to Ohio for 13 years and finally to Madison Co., AL where he died 1835. Wife was Sarah BURNETT. BAILEY, Richard – R 387 – Born enlistment, lived Fauquier Co., VA 1762; from there to Mecklenburg Co., NC, then to Jefferson Co., TN, then to Smith Co., TN, to Lawrence Co., TN to Lauderdale Co., AL to Lawrence Co., AL. Rejected and suspended. BAKER, Samuel – S 10 354 – At enlisted, lived Fauquier Co., VA; after Rev. lived East TN, moved to KY. In 1832 Tuscaloosa, AL where applied for pension. Last paid 1836 Caldwell Co., KY. BALLENGER, John – S 31 543 – Born Culpeper Co., VA where he entered service; at close of war moved to SC and stayed there about eight years, then he moved to St. Clair Co., AL. In 1842, he stated he had been living in St. Clair Co., AL 17 years and previously, Greenville Co., SC. BARBOUR, Mordecai – S 8043 – Born Petersburg, VA; died 1846 at home of daughter Frances in AL, (Greene Co. apparently). 1st wife was Elizabeth STRODE. BARNETT, William – DAR Lineage Books – Born 1761 Amherst Co., VA; died 1834 Montgomery Co., AL; married Mary MERIWETHER, Will available. BARRY, William – Obit – Died at resident of Salathiel CLEMENTS in Benton (now Calhoun) Co., AL 1838; Served in Virginia Line. BASS, Burwell – various records – Born Brunswick (later Greenville) Co., VA; moved to Anson Co., NC and there entered NC Militia; about 1813 or 1815 moved with several other Anson co. families to Alabama Territory and settled in Jefferson Co. BATTLES, Noel – S 12 960 – Applied for pension in 1832 at age of 78 in St. Clair Co., AL. In 1776, he resided in Albemarle Co., VA. After his marriage, moved to GA and later to AL. BAYLESS, Hezekiah – NC, VA S 16 624 – Born 1757 NJ; when an infant, his father emigrated to MD then to Loudon Co., VA where Hezekiah m. Jane EVANS; in 1779 emigrated to Washington Co., TN, then to Knox Co., TN where he lived 20 years. In 1807 moved to Madison Co., AL where he died 1835. Rejected. Moved from NC to Cobb Co., GA to TN, back to GA to AL; was in 1840 Census Marengo Co., Al. BENGE, Obadiah – R 743 – Born ca. 1763 Albemarle Co., VA; lived Surry Co., NC when he entered service; lived there 14-15 years, thence to Davidson Co., TN for eight years, Franklin Co., TN until 1814, then Walker Co., GA and Dekalb Co., Al. Bible record included in pension. BENTLEY, Efford – S 16 637 – Born 1759 Amelia Co., VA; died 2 Jul 1837 (tombstone) Madison Co., AL; 2nd wife was Elizabeth GAY, by whom he had nine children. Efford and Elizabeth buried in family cemetery near Huntsville, AL. He was son of Sam’l BENTLEY of Amelia Co., VA and she d/o William & Frances (Trent) GAY. BERRY, James – DAR Lineage Books – Born 1750 Russell Co., VA; died 1836 Lauderdale Co., AL; married Mary MONTGOMERY. BEVERS, James – S 37 739 – Born 1763; enlisted in VA. Resided in Limestone Co., AL in 1823 where he died Dec 1826. BEVILL, Edward – S 16 638 – Born 1762 Mecklenburg Co., VA where he lived for about 15 years; after close of war moved to NC and in 1825 to Madison Co., AL where he died in 1847. BILLINGSLEA, Clement – born Stafford Co., VA 1763; married Cynthia TURNER 1781; sold all his property 1825 and moved to Autauga Co., AL Will probated Autauga Co., AL 1841. BINSON – William – Obit of soldier and wife – Born 1763 Buckingham Co., VA; died 25 May 1842, Tuscaloosa Co., AL; wife Jane died 1842 Tuscaloosa Co., AL; married 1784. She was brought up in Caswell Co., NC. Not long after their marriage, they moved to Columbia Co., GA and then to AL. BISHOP, Wyatt – S 14 958 – born 1759 Surry Co., VA. Resided in Sussex Co., VA when he enlisted; moved to TN to AL; in 1833 lived Franklin Co., AL. Last paid 1834. In 1834, he said he had resided in Franklin Co., AL for eight years and before that in Madison Co., AL, Robertson & Davidson Cos., TN & Prince Edward Co., VA. Surry Co., VA Marriages show one Wyatt BISHOP to Elizabeth CHEATHAM, 22 Nov 1788. BLACKBURN, Clement – Pension – Born 1760 Lisbon, Portugal; lived in Mecklenburg Co., VA during war until 1816 when he moved to Madison Co., AL. His will is recorded in Limestone Co., AL, made in Madison Co., AL. He died 1834 Limestone 1843. BLAIR, James – S 22 125 – Born 1761 Augusta Co., VA; died 1839 Pickens Co., AL; lived in Burke Co., NC during war, afterward moved to Rhea Co., TN then Pendleton Dist., SC, Franklin & Habersham Counties., GA. DAR Lineage Books show wife as Elizabeth POWELL. BLAKELY, Aquilla – S 31 558 – Born 1740 Fauquier Co., VA; during service was a resident of Patrick Co., VA; after war to Grayson Co., VA, where he lived eight to ten years; from there to Jefferson Co., TN for five years; then to Blount Co., AL where he was living in 1823 and died 1838. BLANKENSHIP, Reuben – S 32 120 VA – Born Chesterfield Co., VA. Was living in Bedford Co., VA when drafted; died d1850 Coosa Co., AL leaving wife Elizabeth and nine children. BLEVINS, Dillon – Born 1750 Henry Co., VA; married Ann ARMSTRONG, 1770 Pittsylvania Co., VA; died 1836 Dallas Co., AL; wife died 1844. BREEDLOVE, Charles – Born Essex Co., VA; married Sally FLETCHER before 1774; moved to Lawrence Co., AL; served in NC; left Will in Lawrence Co., AL. BREEDLOVE, John – Served in Culpepper Co., VA; Will 1833 Montgomery Co., VA. BREWER, Barrett – S 32 131 – Born 1763 Louisa Co., VA; soon after, father moved to Charlotte Co., VA where Barrett lived until 1783; then to Ga. In 1833, he was living in Montgomery Co., AL and in 1838 in Macon Co., AL; died 1844; married Malinda POLLARD, 1794 Wilkes Co., GA. Lawsuit re: estate available. BROWN, Rev. Daniel – various records – Born 1755 Culpepper Co., VA; moved to KY and lived Jefferson Co., AL for a time before going to Greene Co., AL where he died 1835. BROWN, Thomas – Obit – Born 1752 Culpepper Co., VA; died 1827 Montgomery Co., AL at residence of son, Dr. Thomas BROWN. Engaged in rev. struggle-Guilford C.H., King’s Mt., Yorktown. BROWN, William – S 6 697 – Born 1760 Pittsylvania Co., VA; living in Guilford Co., NC during service: then to TN, GA, Monroe Co., MS, and Franklin Co., AL. Moved from Choctaw Co., MS 1850 “Wm. Brown has resided in Choctaw Co. at residence of his son and son-in-law for several years past.” BRYANT, John – S 12 299 – Born 1754 Albemarle Co., VA; lived in Buckingham Co. when he enlisted in 1781; after war lived in Lincoln Co., KY, Adair Co., KY, Lincoln Co., TN and Jackson Co., AL. Moved back to Lincoln Co., TN and then back to Jackson Co., AL, 12 years later moved back to Lincoln Co., TN. Applied for pension 1838 in Jackson Co., AL, last paid there in 1841.
