 Evelyn Carolyn Parrish( May 29, 1936 – February 8, 2025 )Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 16th, 2025 at Crestwood Funeral Home for Carolyn Parrish, age 88, located at 2209 E Broad Street Gadsden, AL 35903. Carolyn passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday 2/8/25. Jordian Self will officiate. Burial will immediately follow chapel service. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.Carolyn is preceded in death by her late beloved husband, Stanley Parrish. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting the needs of her loved ones first. From a young age, Carolyn surrendered her life to Christ and always treated others with the love, grace, and kindness modeled in her faith. She was a cherished member of the Gadsden community and a faithful member of Falls Mountain Church for more than 40 years. Carolyn was a long-standing member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and served as treasurer many of those years. She served a long, fulfilling career in the Gadsden City School system. She also sat on the board at Emblem Credit Union (Formerly Alabama Teacher’s Credit Union) for several decades, and served some years as president. The immediate and extended families are deeply mourned by Carolyn’s loss but find assurance in knowing that she is at peace, without suffering, seated at the right hand of our savior.Carolyn is survived by her son, Steven Parrish (Lisa), Grandchildren, Joshua Parrish (Haley), Samantha Frost (Tyler), Haley Crawley (Sharard), Tyler Cason (Lisa), and 9 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Joshua Parrish, Sharard Crawley, Joseph Atchley, Tyler Frost.Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Parrish, Kenneth Atchley, and Isaac Parrish.Special thanks to the nurses at Southern Hospice Care and all the staff at Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation center.Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM on Sunday 2/16/2025 with service starting at 1PM. |
